Thursday November 3rd, 2016 | Leave a comment Every year since 2008, Barcamp Phnom Penh is growing in both topics and participants. Barcamp Phnom Penh each year tries to visit different universities, it used to be in CJCC (RUPP) in 2008, PUC, UP, ITC and now at Norton University, Chroy Changva. This year, I think we should not miss the moment there and these 3 reasons might help to remind you: 1. One of the largest Tech event in Cambodia. The user generated content event, where you can show off your ability in tech area, to discover new innovation and to meet geeks, innovative people; since the first Barcamp, other specific tech events are also growing by different purpose but Barcamp is always far popular by number of participating and speakers. 2. New Naming: Barcamp ASEAN The first year where Barcamp Phnom Penh becomes or names as Barcamp ASEAN that attracts more ASEAN countries to join, to meet and to share our common purposes: to empowering young people, promoting tech, business/startup and even more. I think this year, it will be a great opportunity to meet those people, to listen to their journey that allows us to learn many things at the same time. 3. Speakers & Topics! More speakers from the regions and local, and topics are very interesting when I first saw some of the pre-posted topics. Barcamp is well known-event with a lot of topics to learn from technology topics to business and daily life hack or solution. This year, we would expect more interesting topics as we have more regional speakers in ASEAN countries. We might go to join or buy some training to enrich our career, professional or dream, that’s why I think this event would help us to fulfill the gap and it’s FREE. These are some examples of my pickup topics: 5 Global lessons about tech startups – Mike Ducker, Director of Tiger@Mekong Better Choice for Better Career Life – Nhong Korane, Managing Director, HR Consulting How to work as a freelancer? – Thomas Wanhoff, Freelance Writer Investment Opportunity In Cambodian Startup – Thul Rithy, Angel Investor, SmallWorld Filling The Skills Gap In IT in Cambodia – Chris Wray, CEO, Digital Rain See you at Norton University, 4th to 6th.
